The self-sufficient working coconut plantation was founded in the 1880s by Dr. Placido Escudero and his wife Dona Claudia Marasigan. Initially planted with sugarcane, the property was replaced with coconut palms by the founder’s son, Don Arsenio Escudero, in the early 1900s. An innovative agro-industrialist, he built the country’s first working hydroelectric power plant to supply the plantation, the factory, and the Villa Escudero itself, which he and his wife Dona Rosario Adap built in 1929. Their children opened the estate to the public in 1981. The resort has become a popular tourist destination for locals and foreign visitors.

What’s included in the tour price: 8 – 8.30 am pickup at your hotel in Manila from Makati, Taguig, Ermita, Malate and Pasay areas. From other areas of the city, a fee of 500 pesos is charged each way. Transfer by air-conditioned minibus, English speaking driver assistant, Filipino English speaking guide in the villa, lunch in the villa, buffalo ride, entrance fees and taxes. An additional ride on a bamboo raft is available upon request. Additional payment on site.
