This river in the island of Palawan got its name from the city, near which is located – Puerto Princesa. The Puerto Princesa Underground River was hailed as one of the new seven wonders of Nature. The 8.2-kilometer subterranean river runs in cave that features spectacular formations of stalactites and stalagmites. River cruise is not allowed for 8 km due to security reasons, because in the depth of the cave, you can feel the lack of oxygen. Boats are allowed for 1.2 km away where you can admire the stalactites and stalagmites. With these and its limestone landscape, it is considered as one of the world’s most complex cave systems.The cave is one of the largest in the world.
